Windows 8 downgrade to Windows 7

I've had a few people asking me about downgrading Windows 8 to Windows 7, and the simple answer is it's quite an expensive thing to do. There are no mechanisms for downgrading so you'd have to buy a full Windows 7 license, and then of course you'd have already paid for a Windows 8 license (as the cost is already factored into your purchase...) Speed up your PC?

I quite often get asked what is the best upgrade for a PC to speed it up, and my answer is always the same...get an SSD! Bought a new PC?

If you have bought a new PC we can transfer ALL of your old data across from your old machine to your new machine for a fixed fee of £25. The only things not able to transfer across is old software and data that is not compatible with your version of OS, for example some programs won't work with Windows 7. If data is corrupt for any reason, we will take reasonable steps to recover it, but this service *may* incur an extra charge!

Our advice here at Pershore Computer MOT is to upgrade now to Windows 7. This is a great upgrade, a lot more secure and with support for some great new technologies and hardware, plus some software now needs Vista or later - we really cannot see why people would want...

Securing Android devices

I've recently had to secure some Android Tablets from overzealous kids who were intent on downloading paid content and altering the settings.I locked down the tablets with 2 apps called App Lock and Settings Profile Lite. Both are easy to install and configure and can lock down an Android device pretty well! They were the best apps I came across and as they achieve what I required I'm happy to recommend them.
