Speed up your PC?

I quite often get asked what is the best upgrade for a PC to speed it up, and my answer is always the same...get an SSD! Solid State Drives make a huge difference to how pc's run and work, so much so that my rather old Thinkpad X300 with a pretty slow SSD boots up and is in Windows 8 within 10 secs including fingerprint scan! Shut down is less than 5 secs... My main "work" pc gets into Windows 7 in under 20 seconds and that is with the BIOS being displayed etc. for 5 secs... The whole experienc...

Bought a new PC?

If you have bought a new PC we can transfer ALL of your old data across from your old machine to your new machine for a fixed fee of £25. The only things not able to transfer across is old software and data that is not compatible with your version of OS, for example some programs won't work with Windows 7. If data is corrupt for any reason, we will take reasonable steps to recover it, but this service *may* incur an extra charge!

We can source and fit 2nd hand components if your budget is tight, sometimes it can just take a little bit of time!

Older Computers

I've had a load of older computers in the workshop recently, and it's getting increasing worthless to try and update them. Folks, it's that time when I suggest that most people should have moved away from Windows XP and on to Windows 7 at least. Win 7 is MUCH better, but needs a dual-core processor, 2 gigs of RAM and a decent hard drive at least to shine these days. Once you've upgraded though, you'll wonder how you lasted so long... However, older computers are getting hard and less cost effec...
